   Club Memories 2015 - 2016



 HE IS THE CHAMPION  - No 1 in 2015

Congratulations to Dave Harding on becoming the British Isles Singles Champion.

He won the title at Llenelli defeating Greg Harlow of England 21 - 15 in the Final

We are the Champions 

Congratulations to Mark Osling and all Team Members of Cardiff Indoor Bowling Club. Welsh Club Champions for the 18th time and for the fourth consecutive year. 

 Congratulations and best wishes to Chloe Jackson and Sophie Wilcox on their selection to play in the under 25's GB Tournament in Scotland

  February 2016

A very successful indoor season continues for individuals and the club.

 - Dan Salmon won the Welsh Champion of Champions 
 - The Welsh Open Singles saw three of our members in the last four with  
    the final being keenly contested between two club members, last years 
    Champion, David Harding and Mark Harding with the latter just winning.
 - Three club members, Nigel Leigh, Nigel Leigh and Wayne Letman were 
    part of the Welsh double rink who successfully defended their British Isles  
    Indoor Bowls Council title at Warners in Hayllng Island.
  - The club Championship side look to be well on course to retain their 
    Welsh  title.
 - Cathedral are one point behind the leaders in their section of the Welsh     
   Team championship with a game in hand
 - The KO Cup teams have qualified to the semi final stage of this national 

Our congratulations to our eight members who have been selected to represent Wales in the International Series to be held in Llanelli in March.  Do go along and support them, it does make a difference.

Mike Hart and John Seaford win their first caps whilst there is a recall for Paul Williams.  

Also selected are Damian Doubler, David Harding, Mark Harding, Nigel Leigh and Dan Salmon with the latter also selected for the Under 25 Internationals in February.

 The Presentation dinner for the Outdoors took place on the evening of Friday 13th November. Thank you to all that attended. Congratulations to all award recipients and thanks to Club Vice President Howard Davies - May Savage Ladies Captain (2015) and Club Captain GAAARRY Duffy  for the Presentations - follow the link for photo's of the evening

 Welsh Competitions   Judith Wason won the singles, making this the second year that a lady from Cardiff has won the competition.

 Judith will now go to Australia in 2016 to represent Wales at the world Champion of Champions. 


 In the 2 wood singles Emma Woodcock lost in the semi finals as did the rink of Hayley Frost, Debbie Jones, Emma Woodcock and Judith Wason and also the O55 rink of Marilyn Helyar, Bev John, Pam John and Gill Miles. The club also lost in the semi finals of the double rink

 Emma Woodcock won the 4 wood singles 

Debbie Jones and Pam John lost in the final of the 4 wood pairs. 

Alice Davies, Judith Wason and Emma Woodcock lost in the semi final of the triples.

In the County league competitions the following results were achieved:

Afternoon league:  Section A (3 rink) - runners up

                           Section 4 (2 rink) - winners

Evening league     Cardiff G won their section and lost in the final of the play-offs                                  Cardiff S were runners up in their section.
